One year on from its triumphant launch, the UK's first comprehensive retro gaming event goes from strength to strength, with the announcement of a special appearance from FPS legend John Romero! The shooter supremo behind DOOM, QUAKE and WOLFENSTEIN 3D will be making his UK event debut when the second Revival Retro Event rolls around, at Wolverhampton's Dunstall Park, on August 9th. This once in a lifetime opportunity to meet a game development master – and take him on at his own titles, with deathmatch DOOM and Quake contests! – will also include an exclusive Q&A and an opportunity to have your memorabilia signed by the great man in person. Romero says, “I’m looking forward to attending Revival on August 9th! I’m planning to do lots of deathmatch in DOOM and Quake. I hear England has some amazing players!”

The second Revival Retro Event will take place over the weekend of 9 and 10th August at Dunstall Race Course, and already boasted hundreds of fully playable classic arcade machines, computer and console set-ups. Plus there will be exhibitions from the Retro Computer Museum and the Centre for Computing History, and Q&As from industry veterans from companies like OCEAN and U.S. GOLD, plus pioneering gaming mag stalwarts from Newsfield Publishing, creators of Crash and Zzap! But with the confirmation of John Romero's arrival on Saturday, it looks like the UK's top retro gaming event has reached a whole new level of awesome.

Would love to go to that,
Haven’t the spare money for flights and accommodation
Actually haven’t any money till tomorrow when I get paid.

There should be a second day event when he comes Northern Ireland :D or a live stream so people like me can still watch :D

I’d love to go, it sounds like an awesome time. Just to bad it’s across the pond and I’d have a hard time explaining to the wife why I emptied the bank account to go to a game convention. :)
